Whilst on KI, I dropped the Koala Rescue book to the Kangaroo Island Community Education schools: Kingscote, Pardana and Penneshaw campuses. The children of KI are resilient. Everywhere I went, I was greeted with smiles and many questions.

Koala Rescue is in the library at Pardana School.

Koala Rescue is at Kingscote School, too.

Later in the week, I visited the Penneshaw campus, which has a beautiful aspect overlooking the bay. The staff and children must enjoy the fresh air and all that freedom in nature to think, play and learn. I enjoyed reading Koala Rescue to the reception-grade 4 children. It was an audience of  40 children and they were inquisitive and active learners. We then broke into groups for a wildlife describing activity. Of course, no afternoon is complete without a Carmello Koala! The children are very proud of their community and their parents who were involved in fighting the fires or other activities during the black summer. Thank you for allowing me to visit and share the Koala Rescue story with you, Penneshaw!

Koala Rescue going to visit the children at Penneshaw.
